After hearing Netflix and Abema were producing the next season of ‘Dorakoi’ (Falling In Love Like A Romantic Drama), I was excited. I loved the show’s concept. I can now appreciate why Taeju from Season 1 is considered legendary after watching all 10 seasons. His scenes have been important in the history of the show. The fact that the setting would be in Korea piqued my interest even more, given the high standards of Korean TV productions and the professionalism of their actors.

After viewing a few episodes of this season, I have to admit that it did not live up to my expectations to the extent that I had anticipated it would. ‘Superior Production Quality, but Lacks the Signature Charm of Previous Seasons’ – this phrase aptly summarizes my feelings about the current installment. While there have been some improvements, the season lacks the enthralling essence that made past seasons so intriguing. Seasons 6-8, specifically, established a high standard with their captivating narratives and talented actors. The current season may not surpass the prior seasons in terms of overall appeal, but it does stand out due to its high level of production.

As the show is still being broadcast and has not yet come to an end, there is the possibility that it will get better as it continues to air. I really hope things get better as the show goes on.

Love Like A K-Drama (Dorakoi S11/Falling In Love Like A Romantic Drama S11) is streaming on Netflix every Tuesday.
